Michael Day is the President and Founder of Canyon Strategies and has extensive experience in personal and organizational finance providing Personal CFO services to individuals and is a CFO's CFO for business organizations. Canyon Strategies specializes in a "Planning First" model. Michael is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) who holds the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA) and Non Qualified Plan Advisor (NQPA) credentials with a Masters of Science Degree in Accounting and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration. He is also a graduate of the American Bankers Association's Graduate School of Bank Investments and Financial Management. Michael holds a Series 7 General Securities registration as well as a Series 66 Uniform Combined State Law Registration through LPL Financial. Michael provides planning, wealth and risk management solutions for individuals and organizations including ERISA and Non-Qualified Group Plans.
Michael has a passion for Financial Literacy and Education and hosts the "It's Your Money" financial education series which includes webinars and seminars on topics from basic investing to advanced estate planning. He also leads a six course financial literacy series inspired by the writings of Warren Buffet and created by a team of Harvard Business School Alumni for the World of Business Reading Group Financial Literacy Program designed to provide a solid understanding of business concepts and foundational knowledge of investment principals.
Prior to founding Canyon Strategies, Michael was Chief Financial Officer, Chief Investment Officer, Chief Information Officer , Compliance Officer and Director of Human Resources of multiple financial institutions. He has led the organization and charter acquisition of several financial institutions. He has guided organizations through mergers and acquisitions, business reorganizations and divestitures. Michael has served in leadership, board and chairman positions for youth, mental health and professional organizations. He also serves as a life coach and inspirational speaker.
